Supporting PCB with an Eberhard backplate

Eberhard-Backplate-PCB

Eberhard backplate is used for gentle support of the PCB during horizontal pin insertion process.

  1. Clamps pull the PCB to supporting blocks
  2. PCB is in contact - no “high-frequency fluttering” during assembly
  3. No “hitting” of the PCB on the support blocks with each individual stroke
  4. < 500 microstrains
  5. Individually adapted support for the complete patch field
  6. Low punctual force application
  7. No deflection of the PCB
  8. Support of the sleeves in the PCB through precisely fitting holes for each pin type
  9. High-precision, hardened and screwed supporting blocks on request
  10. Unevenness of the PCB is compensated for by clamps
  11. Clamps hold the PCB only in the insertion direction
  12. No tension in transverse direction, PCB is tension-free here
  13. Horizontal pin insertion
  14. No deflection of the PCB due to its own weight

Movable PCB support

Movable support of the PCB (also called anvil).

Other manufacturers use anvils to support the PCB. In this case, pin insertion is done vertically.

(-) Anvil hits the hanging PCB with high dynamics every time

(-) PCB is “bent up” and overshoots

(-) Counterpressure of the insertion axis presses it onto the anvil
